The Tamrest forest is a large primordial forest in the southern region of the Fallanstaff Plains, nestled at the base of the Ironbeak Mountains. It’s remote location in the region, combined with the numerous predators and other threats within make it a seldom visited area. The Wild Elves call the forest their ancestral home and charge themselves with keeping outsiders from breaching the inner sanctuaries in the forest. As a result, only Wild Elves know what lies within the heart of the forest. The Humans of Fallanstaff do occasionally harvest trees along the borders of the forest, but the dangers usually drive them to the smaller, more manageable forests to the north.
The Sky Dwarves use various trails that they have developed in conjunction with the Wild Elves to skirt along the outer edges of the forest to transport goods from the Ironbeak Mountains out into the broader region of the Fallanstaff Plains.
Savage goblins tribes threaten any who breach the borders of the forest, despite the constant attempts of the Wild Elves to keep their numbers down. The primordial nature of the forest means there are ancient predators who still roam within the borders, occasionally even finding their way out into the plains to the north where there are few who can challenge them. The Dwarves and Humans who occasionally venture into the forest also swear there are numerous fey spirits and beings who roam the forest, preying on the week.
